Split sessions to run in parallel:
11.35 – 1.05pm – Classical diet workshop for dietitians – calculation, initiation and tips on practical implementation
OR: two teaching sessions for medics/neurologists:
11.35 – 12.20pm – Neuro-metabolic disease (GLUT 1 DS & PDH)
12.20 – 1.05pm – Placing dietary therapy alongside other treatment choices for epilepsy (includes indications and contra-indications for ketogenic therapy)
1.05 – 2pm – KETOGENIC LUNCH
2 – 2.30pm – Basic science and mechanisms of action
2.30 – 3.15pm – Monitoring and side effects (includes home and clinic monitoring, quality of life and psychological/behavioural assessments)
3.15 – 3.45pm – Ketogenic therapy for adults
3.45 – 4pm – TEA BREAK
4 – 4.30pm – Ketogenic therapy in oncology
4.30 – 5pm – Medications and over-the-counter products
5 – 5.30pm – Management of emergency situations (illness, status, ICU)
7pm – EVENING RECEPTION/ DINNER AT HOTEL (for residential delegates)
Day 2
8.45 – 10.15am – MCT diet workshop – calculation, initiation and tips on practical implementation
10.15 – 10.30am – COFFEE BREAK
10.30 – 11am – Supplementation
11 – 11.30am – Fine tuning and weaning
11.30am – 12pm – Tube feeding and TPN
12 – 12.30pm -Ketogenic therapy in infants
12.30 – 1.30pm – KETOGENIC LUNCH
1.30 – 3pm – Modified diets workshop (MAD, MKD and LGIT) – calculation, initiation and tips on practical implementation
3 – 3.15pm – TEA BREAK
3.15 – Closing remarks and MF support
3.30 – 5.30pm – Split sessions of one hour each, then groups change over
Session 1 – Practical Ketogenic cooking
Session 2 – Case studies and worst case scenarios – informal discussion with panel of dietitians
